Cisco Certification Exams
Cisco offers two approaches to the certification exam on the CCNA level. The first is Exam 640-801. This exam consists of 55 to 65 questions. You are given a 90-minute time frame. You'll save both time and money by taking only one exam. Plus, it covers all the topics, so if you are sure you know the material, then by all means take just one exam. It's important to keep in mind, though, that there is no second part to "save" you. Many who have field experience choose this route for certification. If you're new to all this, it may be a good idea to take the two-exam approach instead. The two-exam plan has a first part consisting of 45 to 55 questions. It is 75 minutes in duration and covers: technology, planning and design, implementation, operation, and troubleshooting. The second exam covers 40 to 50 questions and is one hour in length. It includes questions on design, support, implementation and operations, and technology. This is probably the best choice if money is tight or if you are new to the IT field. The exam may have a few non-graded questions on it. These are designed to help the company evaluate performance data. Extra time is allowed, and there will be no penalty for incorrect answers. Your certification will be good for three years. If you obtain more certifications during the three years so that you have professional or expert status, renewing the higher certifications will also renew all lower level certifications. ITTechTips.com offers unique and innovative video-based study materials that can help you pass the Cisco certification exams with ease.
